Students are also supported by our Guidance Team, which includes our guidance counselor, part-time social worker, and part-time school psychologist. Our team provides both individual and group counseling services to at-risk or mandated students or on an as-needed basis.
From the Guidance Counselor
Counseling at City Knoll Middle School is available to all students, both mandated and at-risk. Counseling is offered to students individually and in groups. The goal of all counseling sessions is to empower students to be their best selves in the academic setting and beyond. During small group and one-to-one counseling sessions, the guidance counselor strives to create a collaborative, safe and supportive environment in order to build students' decision-making skills and overall self-esteem. Groups are strategically organized to support all students’ success.
We are committed to supporting the individuality of each student and skillfully using strategic, timely and personal interventions to maximize each child's school experience at City Knoll Middle School. Our guidance counselor is available by phone or email for families' concerns throughout the school day.
If needed, outside counseling referrals can be provided as well, most notably to the Jewish Board and Hudson Guild Programs.
If there is ever a crisis or a family is in need of emotional support outside of school hours, families can call 1-888-NYC-WELL or text WELL to 65173 for confidential and free support. NYC WELL is a 24/7 service.
